PUBLIC AWARENESS THROUGH CONTINUOUS EDUCATION
Continuous environmental education and general public awareness are the most powerful tools for transforming primary attempts of nature conservation into a large scale people’s movement. This is achieved by arranging workshops for school and college students, audio-visual presentations for urban and rural communities, radio and television shows, articles written in various newspapers and magazines, blogs on internet and social media, wildlife study tours, bicycle rallies and the likes on regular basis.
URBAN PUBLIC AWARENESS
The proportion of the world’s population living in urban environments has continued to grow in the last few decades. At the same time, the terrible woes facing the world such as climate change, environmental degradation, pollution, food security and poverty present some of the greatest challenges for the cities and their residents. Urban environmental education is a process that aims to make cites more sustainable. Therefore, we continuously organize such programs wherever possible.
RURAL PUBLIC AWARENESS
The economic development and population growth of rural areas, especially in the developing countries, has resulted in many problems such as environmental pollution, unpredictable weather patterns, land degradation caused by overuse of chemical fertilizers and pesticides, resource depletion, biodiversity loss and public health hazards. Being closer to the wilderness than urban public, rural population is more susceptible to human-wildlife conflict. We always try to educate rural public about environmental issues and their solutions, through various programs.
ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION FOR SCHOOL KIDS
School children are highly receptive to the new ideas. Environmental education at this tender age makes them more aware and conscious of environmental problems. It also boosts their interest in caring for and improving the environment. Therefore, school kids are always our primary target audience for awareness programs.
ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS
College students and youth embody the future of any country. Educating them about the Nature and Environment can help make them more responsible citizens of the future. Our team runs various educational programs for people of this age group
WILDLIFE STUDY CAMPS FOR YOUTH
Educating the youth about wildlife can help them pursue a career in wildlife conservation. It may give rise to a young, talented future generation of Naturalists, Wildlife biologists and Social entrepreneurs. We frequently organize wildlife study tours for them.
WILDLIFE STUDY CAMPS FOR CORPORATE EMPLOYEES
Employees belonging to corporate sector, who follow a very busy work schedule, work in urban environment. Many of them may have various health issues caused by stressful lifestyle. Bringing such people closer to the nature definitely helps relieve the stress. Wildlife tourism can give them the necessary break and make them more aware of the nature, environment and the importance of its conservation.
BIRD WATCHING TRAILS
Watching and studying the birds in their natural habitat is not just a recreational activity or a popular pastime. It’s a scientific sport that promotes citizen science by bringing general public close to the nature. We arrange bird watching trails on regular basis to study native and migratory birds.
BICYCLE RALLIES
The Bicycle is a Catalyst for Nature Conservation. It symbolizes a healthy, non-polluting, non-carbon emitting and cost efficient mode of transport. Environment conscious people from all around the world are constantly promoting more use of bicycles in order to restrain the emission of greenhouse gases caused by fossil fuel combustion. We frequently organize bicycle rallies for the same reason.
NEWS AND ARTICLES IN NEWSPAPERS
Even in the modern digital world of social media, the Print media has still maintained its popularity and credibility among common people. Therefore, we regularly use this platform for creation of awareness and write on various topics in newspapers.
ARTICLES IN MAGAZINES
A magazine usually does not have space restrictions since it is published on monthly basis. Therefore, we publish long, descriptive articles related to Nature, Environment and wildlife in various magazines.
RADIO PROGRAMS
Radio broadcasting had almost become obsolete in early 90s, due to the emergence of Audio-Visual media like television. However, it reemerged in the early 2000s with the use of modern technology. Broadcast radio today reaches a staggering 99% of the Indian population. Rural India still relies on it for information. We make full use of this media in our work of awareness creation.
TELEVISION SHOWS
Television is a widespread medium of mass communication. It entertains, shares the information and educates a large part of the society. Therefore, we frequently present television shows that highlight the issues and solutions related to Nature and environment.
HAND BROCHURES
People living in the rural areas may not always have an access to Internet or Audio-visual media. It is difficult to create awareness about wildlife conservation among such people. Therefore, we help the forest department to make printed hand brochures which precisely convey any message related to the local issues of nature and wildlife.
INFORMATIVE HOARDINGS AT TOURIST PLACES
Tourist places with beautiful natural landscapes are not only meant for enjoying vacations. People should be aware of and respect the local animal and plant biodiversity as well. We help the forest department to make hoardings that display native wildlife in the region and create awareness among the tourists.
