ANIMAL RESCUE OPERATIONS
The incessant loss to wildlife habitats are likely to result in the increased human-wildlife conflict incidences in the future. In backdrop of such situations, we assist the forest department in wildlife rescue and rehabilitation. These operations are often difficult and risky which require a lot of resources such as specialized rescue equipment, safety gears, vehicles, manpower and funds. Therefore, with very limited resources at our disposal, we are trying persistently to upgrade ourselves with improved skills and modern technology in order to form a more efficient rescue team.
SHELTER FOR WOUNDED ANIMALS
Severely wounded animals often require more than just first aid. It is difficult for us to take care of such animals many a times, due to unavailability of inpatient veterinary care facility. Hence we wish to establish a well-equipped, transient treatment shelter for such animals.
PUBLIC AWARENESS CAMPAIGN
Continuing environmental education is essential to make more people aware of the need for nature conservation. We wish to extend the spectrum of such public awareness programs.
SEED BANK OF INDIGENOUS TREES
Seeds of indigenous trees are difficult to procure because of varying flowering and fruiting seasons for various plants. Moreover, very few people collect the native plant seeds due to more demand for exotic trees. Therefore, we envision to establish a seed bank of native tree species.
NURSERY OF INDIGENOUS TREE SAPLINGS
Indigenous trees provide food and shelter to a variety of native wildlife including insects, birds, reptiles and small mammals unlike exotic trees. However, saplings of indigenous trees are not easily available in the market because of more demand for exotic tree saplings which are more attractive and require less care. Consequently, it becomes a necessity to possess a nursery of exclusively indigenous saplings in the future.
LIBRARY FOR ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION
One of the best ways to learn how to help the environment is to educate yourself about what is going on in the world and how our actions can be harmful or beneficial to the world around us. Libraries have always been at the heart of the communities they serve. They are the places that provide access to hugh resources of information and knowledge, even in today’s internet era. Therefore, the books related the Nature and Environment would really enlighten the public at large by making them aware about the effects of human activities on Nature and how conservation of nature and environment are vital for our future. We wish to possess such a library that will be accessible to the young students, nature enthusiasts and the general public.
